Tennessee law allows expungement of eligible criminal records. Eligibility generally requires:

  • The offense is on the eligible list (not excluded under § 40-32-101(g))
  • All sentences, probation, and supervision are complete
  • All fines, fees, and restitution are paid
  • Waiting period has passed (varies by offense)

Filing required: File the completed petition with the court clerk in the county of conviction. A filing fee (typically $100–$450) is due at the time of filing. Fee amounts vary by county and offense type.
